A Reflection of Thanks
November 30, 2010I know Thanksgiving Day has come and gone, but I can’t help but reflect on the amazing journey my family has been on for the last 3 years. (My chemobaby will be 2 very soon–can you believe it?)
I am eternally thankful for:
- My husband, the saint, who married me even though I had cancer
- My friends, who have been my cheerleaders every step of the way
- My family, for accepting what was happening to me, even if it made them uncomfortable
- My co-workers, who have listened to every chapter of this story and have supported me throughout this journey
- My stepdaughter, who accepted chemobaby and her challenges so easily
- My chemobaby, who gave me even more incentive to fight cancer and beat it to a pulp –You will always be my ultimate inspiration
My family is so blessed to have survived this ordeal. I read online posts every day from mothers raising children with spina bifida reciting challenges that they are facing, while we face minimal challenges. And I am cancer-free, watching my spina-bifida child walk, thrive, and embrace life as if nothing stood in her way. We are incredibly blessed indeed.
As are we all blessed to have you in our lives!

Oh, now I see, the clock is off. I just posted at 8:00 am and it reads 1:00 pm. No. no. no, I need those 5 hours back, please.
